A fairly unimaginative outfit, I seem to have reached the stage where all my normal clothes just look a bit wrong but I don't really need proper maternity wear yet. I've been holding off buying new trousers for ages worrying that they won't fit after a week and it'll be an awful waste. Such a shame because there are some beautiful colours and patterns in the shops at the moment. My current lust are the snakeskin zip skinnies in Primark which I emplore you all to seek out.
For now though I'll have to make do with these raspberry maternity jeans from New Look. Sitting under the bump, with elasticated pockets they aren't the worst in the world. I am however becoming incensed that I cannot find a properly skinny pair of maternity jeans. They all flair out a little at the ankle. Presumably to provide some balance so you don't go round looking like a lollipop but dammit they don't sit right on my ankle boots.... Sigh. I'm also wearing an Urban Outfitters sweater, Primark vest (great for covering wierd maternity jean fly areas) and making the most of the weather by wearing my ballet flats for as long as possible. Finally I'm not on a mission to bring back sweatbands. The elasticated powder blue numbers adorning my wrists are Sea Bands, which are the only things on a long list including prescription Anti Emetics and bloody Ginger Biscuits that stop me feeling sick right now.

Have you tried any Berry jeans yet?

Nop - but I've tried some berry cords. They were berry nice. Hee hee. Sorry - I couldn't resist.
ReplyDeleteTold you the ginger biscuits would work.
Really enjoy your blog - congrats on your pregnancy :-)
ReplyDeleteFirstly congratulations! Wot fantastic news!! So sorry to hear about the yucky sickness, as you know it does go ... eventually!! Ginger nuts (if you pardon the expression!) do help. Good luck! Must admit, in my pregnancy, I loved buying stuff for my changin figure, any excuse to spend some cash! One of my best buys was a white t. covered in tiny black skulls(NL), felt very rock n roll (minus the alochol, drugs etc!).
ReplyDeleteSecondly, love your berry trews! I was wearing some y'day! Quite tricky to find a top to suit, howevs, like you, in the end I went for grey and black (grey vest, under a black light jumper).
Lastly, can I ask a fashion Q? Is it still 'ok' to wear coloured jeans? They suddenly feel very 'summer', and we're autumn now.
Once again - congrats! xx
I am wearing very similar (non maternity) jeans that I got in the Boden sale last winter. Used them loads last year so glad to see they still seem to be this year's thing!
ReplyDeleteJust noticed Lin's comment above - I'm thinking that coloured jeans are fine in autumn but in more muted colours e.g. I've got my berry ones, a rusty red pair and a teal pair for autumn/winter rather than the bright red and cobalt blue ones I had for summer...?
ReplyDeleteThanks for coloured jeans reply.
DeleteI agree, I feel happier in my berry pair too.
But the purple pair I loved in summer just don't seem right now!x
What??! You're pregnant? Congratulations!!! Oh gosh, I can commiserate about the morning sickness. I don't know whether it's hearsay or not but friends seem to be convinced that REALLY bad morning sickness equates to having a girl because of the increased estrogen level.
ReplyDeleteI like the burgundy skinny jeans you've got on at the moment. I bought mine from 7 for All Mankind years ago when bootcut was in vogue and then it got passed around my friends and sisters in law.
